LEADING LADIES CELEBRATE FEMALE LEADERSHIP

  • Business figures brought together to celebrate launch of ‘The Female Leadership Paradox’    -

This week saw leading communications agency Financial Dynamics (‘FD’), bring together some of the UK’s top business women to celebrate the launch of the latest work from Dutch leadership expert and author Mirella Visser. The event forms part of the firms’ ‘Women’s Network’, set up six years ago by FD to support its female employees and increase the number of women at senior levels within the firm.

Guests at the event included Alderman Sheriff of the City of London Fiona Woolf CBE, who was on hand to offer her support and receive the first copy of the book. As one of the two Sheriffs of the City of London, and only the third woman to hold this position in eight centuries, Fiona was well placed to share her thoughts on the issue of ‘female leadership’.

Following on from the Lord Davies report this year, ‘The Female Leadership Paradox’ focuses on the topical issue of women in the workplace, and more specifically, their representation at senior management level.  It also looks at what women can do in order to optimize their career opportunities and details how this can bring about significant benefits to the companies and organizations they work for.

The audience, which ranged from Chief Executives and Chairmen to Professors and City Councillors, were given the ideal platform to share their own experiences as well as exchange views on a variety of issues and challenges facing women in business today.

Mirella Visser, author of ‘The Female Leadership Paradox’ commented, “In writing this book, my intention was not only to stimulate debate around the topic, but also to provide practical tips and concrete advice for women on their way to the top.  It was a privilege to launch the book in such highly esteemed company and to talk to these women about their own personal experiences in the corporate world”.
